New Look Summer Haul

I mentioned in my previous blog post that I went on a little shopping trip and managed to pick up a few pretty things for Summer. This is a very mini haul but I thought I would show them anyway since I'm super happy with the things I bought. New Look have the most lovely Summery clothes at the moment.

Black Canvas Shoes with Rose Print | £12.99 | Black canvas shoes are my go-to shoe as they're comfy and just go with everything. I loved these ones in particular as I love the textured rose kind of print on them. It gives them a girly and more of a Summery kind of look.

Petite Cami Dress with Floral Design | £7.99 | I saw the print on this and I just couldn't not get it - the colours are so pretty! It's just a simple and comfy cami dress that will be perfect for hot weather. Even better for me, it comes in petite so it's not too long. Also.. what a bargain!

Floral Playsuit | £19.99 | This is probably my favourite out of everything I have bought. Playsuits are my favourite thing to wear as they're a complete outfit in one - minimal effort is required! I love the colour of the floral design and how cute is the black lace trim on the shorts?! I normally find it difficult to find things that fit perfectly due to my height, but this works so well and is such a flattering fit.

Printed Runner Shorts | £12.99| New Look have such a nice range of printed Summer shorts at the moment.. it was so difficult to choose just one pair! I went for the monochrome look to play it safe (as always). I think I will be wearing these a lot in Summer. Patterned shorts with a white tee is perfect for hot weather!

Travel Essentials

It's definitely getting to that time of the year where lots of people are jetting off on Summer holidays. It's so easy to forget basic things when you've got lots of stuff to pack so I thought I would put together a little list of some of my travel essentials.

  • Money/Credit card/Debit card
  • Passport
  • Phone and charger
  • Plane/Train/Boat tickets
  • Sunglasses
  • Sun cream
  • Mini toothpaste
  • Tooth brush
  • Lip balm
  • Face wipes
  • Hair bobbles
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Moisturiser
  • Deodorant (make sure it's roll on if you're going on a plane)
  • Mini body spray
  • A few good books
  • Plug socket adapter (depending on where you are going)
  • Earphones
  • Camera and charger
  • iPad (or other tablet device)
  • Retainer (if you have one)
I may have missed some essential things there? please let me know if I have! Of course along with that you're going to need your clothes and shoes (yes that's v obvious) and then possibly a few extra things such as makeup, hair dryer/straighteners etc. I always aim to pack as light as possible though - it's nice to have extra space in your suitcase for a few (or a lot of) shopping purchases.

Forever Unique Bikini

As bikini season is upon us, I decided it would be the perfect time to find myself a pretty bikini. I'm kind of fussy with them and I can usually never find one that I like the look of and that looks nice on (I'm not blessed in the boob region so it's always a struggle * sigh *).

I was lucky enough to get my hands on this beautiful one from Forever Unique. I really wasn't expecting to like it as much as I do but I'm just obsessed with the turquoise, blue and green floral-y pattern. It's just so pretty! The bikini itself is padded which is definitely a plus for me and the top of it goes up quite high so it's not obvious that it's just padding, if that makes sense? The bottoms are adjustable which I love, as I hate it when they're tight and then you kind of bulge out of them..that sounds weird.

Forever Unique have the most lovely range of flattering bikini's so if you're looking for a new one for Summer this year, definitely have a browse!

Current Topshop Favourites

After not going on the Topshop website for what has seemed like forever (as I have been trying to save), I decided to have a little browse just to look at the latest stuff. I knew it would be a bad idea because.. oh my goodness, there's just so much I want (need)! I definitely prefer the Summer range to the previous Winter range, which is weird considering I almost always prefer Winter styled clothes. These are a selection of some of the things that I love...

1 | Mot Cutoff Shorts | £33 | I've never owned any shorts in this flared out style. I definitely want some as I think they will be much more flattering than the usual shorts I go for.

2 | Floral Crop Top by C/MEO Collective | £97 | I would never buy a top for that much but I thought it was so pretty..before I saw the price.

3 | Petite Strappy Black Jumpsuit | £39 | I absolutely love this, it would be perfect for a special occasion. Plus it's black so V flattering.

4 | Mini Satchel | £25 | Why do I still not own a cute pastel coloured satchel?

5 | Festival Fringe Cami | £25 | I love the festival look (even though I never want to go to a festival.. except Coachella).

6 | Lace Trim Daisy Shorts | £23 | I love floral designs in Summer and the lace trim is so cute.

7 | Floppy Wool Felt Hat | Definitely dig the whole fedora look. Not so sure if I can pull it off?

8 | Striped Crop Top | £12 | You can never have too many stripes or cami tops in Summer

9 | 5 Years of Beauty Lipstick in Nevada | £8 | I can't be the only one who thinks the Topshop rose gold makeup is beautiful. Plus I really want to try the Nevada shade since it looks like the perfect nude.

10 | Copenhagen Lace-Up Trainers | £22 | I need some shoes for Summer since my black ankle boots are just not going to cut it. I thought these would be cute and ideal.

What's your favourite thing I've picked out?

Mini Yves Rocher Haul

I was recently very lucky and won a competition to receive a few Yves Rocher products (eeek).  I've never tried anything Yves Rocher before, so I was very excited to have won! Winning competitions is the bessssst.

I received four products which were...
  • Delicate cleansing cream sulphate free shampoo
  • Lagoon hair and body wash
  • Raspberry radiance rinsing hair vinegar
  • Precious dry oil
The products smell UH-MAZING and I'm particularly excited to try out the shimmery dry oil. It's supposed to illuminate skin and hair and enhance a tan. I shall report back what I think of everything asap!

Have any of you tried any Yves Rocher products?

Going To Hong Kong

After much deliberation, I have booked to fly to Hong Kong on the 1st June!! (You may already know from Twitter). Hong Kong is a place I have wanted to go to for SO long and I cannot even explain how excited I am to go. Of course this will be the first time I am travelling solo and as you can probably imagine.. I am quite (very) nervous to hop onto a 20 hour flight taking me thousands of miles from home, all by myself! If any of you have travelled alone and can reassure me, please do! It's all experience though and hopefully after this I will feel so much more confident doing things like this. There are so many more places I really want to visit!

Once I arrive, I will be meeting with my friend so I won't be alone for the whole time. I am SO excited to explore somewhere that is so far from and so different to England.

Obviously I am going to take LOTS of pictures and a blog post/s about my trip will be to follow!

Have any of you been to Hong Kong or other areas of China?

The Breakout Saver

Despite eating really healthy at the moment (lots & LOTS of smoothies and fruit) my skin has been breaking out big time. You may have seen I was sent a whole bunch of Witch products to use and one of which - the Witch blemish stick, I used to use a few years ago. I completely forgot how good it was at getting rid of spots. I honestly have no idea why I ever stopped using it??

I admit that the product does not smell very nice. It smells very chemical-y and strong but I'm not really surprised since it works wonders. I've just been applying it all over the spotty areas of my face before I go to sleep (that way it's not going to wear off as easily and you're not going to want to put makeup on top of it). It stings a little when you put it on which I kind of like because it feels like it's really working. After a few days of using it, my skin looked so much clearer. Still not perfect, but definitely clearer.

What's your favourite product for clearing up breakouts?

Sleep Easy Pillow Mist

I'm definitely one of those people that either has a really good sleep or a really, REALLY bad sleep. Aka I either fall asleep within half an hour or I'm up until 5am wide awake. When I got my hands on the 'Sleep Easy Pillow Mist' by blended therapies, I was quite intrigued to try it and see if it actually helped me get into a more regular sleep pattern.

The spray itself (to me) smells very lavendar-y with a hint of white musk (just like the white musk products from the Body Shop), which I like very much and you can definitely tell it's a sleepy kind of smell. It's also supposed to contain chamomile, ylang ylang, sandalwood and various other things. All I have been doing is spritzing a couple of sprays on my pillow each night before I go to sleep. As I mentioned before, the scent is a very sleepy scent.. that definitely doesn't make sense.. but it's just the type of smell that is relaxing? (I suck at describing scents) It's neither fresh or sweet but it definitely adds a refreshing touch to your pillow.

In terms of sleep, I have been sleeping very well since I've been using it. I'm aware this is most likely a coincidence and maybe even a placebo effect.. but maybe the longer you use it, the more you associate the smell with sleep and then it will work that way? Who knows?! Anyway, I will definitely continue to use it and hopefully I will continue having good sleeps!

What are your top tips for getting a good nights sleep?

Topshop Lips in Secret Admirer

Yes I've bought myself another Topshop lipstick! They're just so nice! Since I've been wearing nude lipstick pretty much every day recently, I thought I would go with another natural shade called 'Secret Admirer'. It's a bit more pink than your average nude but I love the 'your lips but better' look.

As always with Topshop lipsticks, the formulation is great. The only down side is that it does have to be reapplied quite often. I always find that's inevitable with a light moisture finish lipstick anyway! I definitely want to try some matte lipsticks to see how they compare.

What's your favourite long lasting lipstick?

Essence 'soo glow!' Highlighter

I find highlighting products can be so hit and miss. Some are perfect and add that nice and subtle, glowing look. Some just make your face look overly shiny in the most unflattering way. I've recently been using the Essence 'soo glow!' cream to powder highlighter and have found that it's perfect for adding a really nice, but also natural looking highlight.

It's a cream consistency so it's quite pigmented, but when you apply it, it sort of transforms to a powder which makes it look so much more natural and easier to blend. I think for an everyday makeup look where you just want to add that subtle glow, this is perfect. For an evening out you might want to go for more of a striking highlight that works with the lights better and stands out.

What's your favourite highlighter?

This Material Culture

I was lucky enough to receive the most lovely necklace from the up and coming online jewellery shop, This Material Culture. You may have already come across it since it's been mentioned by quite a few bloggers at the moment! The brand is all about unique jewellery and the idea that everyone should own a different hand made piece that reflects their personality. I chose the little dinosaur necklace because 1 - it's super cute and 2 - it's a little dainty piece that looks so nice layered with other necklaces.

The necklace itself has been crafted so beautifully and is of such high quality. I'm all for quality when it comes to jewellery. I mean who wants a necklace that turns your neck green?! NOT ME!

If you haven't already come across the brand or the website, you should definitely check it out. They offer such a lovely range with something for everyone!

* The necklace was sent to me for review purposes but this is not a sponsored post and all opinions are my own! *
